I’ve heard of many bloggers who give up on blogging simply because they can’t find the time to blog, keep up on their reader’s blogs, and make time for their life all at the same time. Blogging and keeping up on work, life, activities, and family may prove challenging, but it certainly can be done and it certainly is worthwhile.
Time management plays a huge part in fitting everything in. Here are a few tips to point you in the right direction...Get Back to the Basics
If you find yourself in a blogging rut or are contemplating ending your blog,...
first consider why you began blogging in the first place. You most likely started up a blog because you wanted a creative outlet of your own and to find your own voice, correct? The key is to go back to the basics. Find out what drives you to write and blog, and then focus on the enjoyment and passions that drove you to create a blog in the first place. If you were blogging every day of the week, no wonder you got burned out! You probably didn’t have time to visit other blogs or make new friends on the blogosphere. Blogging does not have to be every single day of the week. It can be spaced out to every few days, enough time for you to visit other blogs and for your readers to catch up on your latest posts.
Don’t Focus on Trivial Matters
Perhaps you are also lacking commitment and motivation. You might even be comparing yourself to other bloggers, wondering why they are getting more traffic than you, why they have more followers, and why they are the center of attention. Stop comparing yourself and blog because you enjoy it!If you enjoy your blog, then others will see this and your readership will thrive due to your passion for your blog. Even if it doesn’t, you are doing it for you and not to gain popularity or attention. Focusing on trivial matters will only dishearten you and there is always going to be a bigger and perhaps, by other’s standards, better blog. Be true to yourself and blog about what matters to you.
Create a Reasonable Schedule
In regards to time, create a schedule. Blogging and reading other blogs one hour a night might be feasible for you or posting every other day on your own blog might also be doable. Create a schedule and stick to it. Also, stay committed and stay consistent, without being hard on yourself for not being able to do it all. The key is balance and in order to love blogging, you need to enjoy it yourself. If your schedule has to change, be flexible to change. Different circumstances in life may arise and you need to be aware that this will not make or break your blog, bloggers like you understand that things come up and they will be happy to wait for you until you return.
