Change Urdu Font of Wikipedia, BBC Urdu, UrduPoint.com, etc

Did you ever wish to view Wikipedia in real Urdu Font; the font which is used in Urdu newspapers, Urdu books and which is really easy to read. Normally you view Urdu text in "Urdu Nastaliq Unicode" font which is difficult to read and does not look comfortable at all. "Urdu Nastaliq Unicode" is a "Windows True-Type" Urdu Font which uses Unicode Arabic. But if you want to view Urdu Websites such as Wikipedia's urdu version, BBC Urdu, Urdu Point etc in the Urdu Font we see in books, newspapers, Inpage etc, then follow this tip;....



 How to Change Font Of Urdu websites                                    
  • Download Alvi Nasteeq font from here
  • Copy the font file and paste it into C:/Windows/Fonts 
   


  • If you using Mozilla Firefox, Click here to install an addone called "Greasemonkey". After installation, restart Firefox (if you are using chrome, move to next step)

  • Using Chrome or Firefox, Whatever... Open This Webpage and Click on Install (this will install a script called "Urdu Font Fixer" into your browser)
  • Allow your browser to Install Script and you're done
  • Now, you will see UrduPoint.com, BBCUrdu and Wikipedia Urdu websites in Beautiful Urdu Font.
Note: When you will open any of above 3 website, you will see default Urdu font for 1-2 seconds, then new Urdu font will be loaded automatically.
Moreover, once Google has added Alvi Nastleeq font into Google Fonts directory, there will be revolution in Urdu blogosphere as no one will be required to install Urdu fonts and use tricks to view Urdu Websites. You can request Google to add Alvi Nastleeq into Google Fonts directory from here.
